Steel is economic:
Prefabricated buildings manufactured and built using steel frames, make the installation and build time far more efficient than tradition build methods. Steel is a material we use because it has the highest capacity for load /weight bearing. Thanks to this high capacity for load bearing using steel members which are produced as small profiles which are light and strong. The sizes for the load bearing elements would need to be smaller with steel, than if compared to timber or concrete, means that a steel framed structure utilizes the build space more efficiently. The cost price element is also affected because the build time is significantly reduced when a home is built using a steel frame eco structure, the benefit here is a saving not just on materials but other factors like rent of a previous home…because using steel frame house, it can completed and ready to live in in a faster time- saving money and rent and possible bank interest.
Steel is earthquake resistant:
Steel is one of the most resistant construction materials around, thanks mainly to its high resistance, flexibility along with lightness and durability that make it an excellent and robust material. Being a very light material, it can be resistant to impacts without breaking up. The only factor to reduce the earthquake force is to lighten the building. Because the bigger the mass of the building is, the stronger the effect from an earthquake to be stressed on the building is. Steel houses are 5 times lighter than a concrete buildings. This means that the earthquake force to be imposed on the building is up to 5 times lower.
Steel is environmentally friendly:
Steel is a light durable and recyclable material. All steel elements that are removed from old steel buildings for example are recycled. Our building’s frames are manufactured using light-gauge steel that can be made from or course recycled material, to compare if a building were made from timber framed house, you would need to cull a minimum 50 trees to produce the cubic volume of timber required to build a that house of similar size, with 30% waste factor included, steel has less of an impact on the environment to that of other building materials like timber.
Steel is fast and efficient:
The Building process is fast and efficient, and not dependent on weather conditions, with no drying or water issues to affect the build, this means there is less time on site, less to clean up, lower labour cost, and that would impact the overall build cost, for example a typical steel frame 200 M2 house can be complete in 60 days.
Steel in buildings is high quality material:
Steel is a quality product produced on a global scale, which has set in stone manufacturing standards which are certified all along the process of production. The material characteristics cannot be altered in any way making steel the most reliable material option available in which to produce a green, recyclable, strong and durable structure.
Galvanized steel is NON corrosive:
Galvanized steel is used in the light-gauge steel frame manufacturing of our buildings, so the resistance against corrosion is high, it doesn’t rust in fact its guaranteed 100 years not to corrode by our steel producers.
Steel is flexible:
A steel framed and constructed building can be adapted to our ever changing living styles when built using steel in any building, walls can be changed or removed even years after construction, elements can be inserted at the manufacture stage to allow for future changes.
Steel doesn’t pose danger from Lightening:
Steel Frame houses are earthed far more efficiently than that of other traditional type of build using timber or concrete and steel or brick, all steel frame houses have multiple earth spikes included at the planning stage, therefore making this steel structure more secure and protected from lighting strikes.
Summary
Houses made from steel are Safer, Faster & More Economical to build!
Light Gauge Steel Production is based cold forming on galvanized steel elements. The structural elements are produced in the factory with controls and supervisions and taken to the site carefully and assembled. This system decreases the human element in that it negates any faults as much as possible. Construction time on site also minimizes the levels of mistakes that can happen with traditional builds these reasons alone make Light Gauge Steel system option, far superior to that of conventional reinforced concrete system or a timber frame construction.
